Govt's decision to abolish Punjab education boards challengedBreaking

October 17, 2023

The caretaker Punjab government's decision to abolish nine education boards was challenged before the Election Commission of Pakistan.  According to media reports on Tuesday, four citizens, including Ghulam Mohiuddin, filed an application through Mian Dawood Advocate, arguing that the education boards were created by the elected government under the approved law of the Assembly, and the caretaker government had no authority to abolish them by administrative order.

The petition also alleges that the bureaucracy is taking advantage of the caretaker government to grab the buildings of the education boards. It further states that abolishing the education boards will destroy the future of millions of students. The petitioners have urged the Election Commission to stop the caretaker government from abolishing the education boards.
