Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that the provincial government is utilizing all available resources to tackle the situation caused after natural disasters. In a statement on the eve of National Disaster Awareness Day marked on Tuesday, she said that the damages of natural disasters can’t be tackles accordingly through better planning and awareness. Maryam Nawaz said that damages caused by the disaster can be minimized which need to improve vigilance, awareness and prevention. She said that everyone should play role to reduce the devastating effects of natural disasters.
The chief minister said that in view of the threat of natural disasters, the early warning system, safety measures were being improved further and rescue services were being upgraded to avoid natural disasters. She said that public awareness was vital for safety during natural disasters and to ensure timely rescue activities during critical situation. It was the common responsibility of all of us to take timely protective measures to protect lives during natural disasters, she added.
