Chairman of the Prime Minister's Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has stated that government is taking steps to form a Youth Advisory Council. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, he said seven to nine thousand young applicants have applied for government's National Youth Council programme. He said one hundred young brilliant minds will be shortlisted for Prime Minister's Youth Advisory Council. Rana Mashhood said the advisory council will give youth a platform to advocate for youth development and engagement in governance, providing non-partisan advice to the Prime Minister. He said the government will also launch a National Youth Policy with consultation of youth and a committee is already working in this connection.
