In preparation for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Rawalpindi, more than 25 rescue vehicles have been dispatched to Swabi. The fleet includes fire trucks, ambulances, and various rescue resources to ensure safety during the event. Reports indicate that over 40 personnel from Rescue 1122 will accompany these vehicles, with officials confirming their deployment is aimed at providing emergency services as needed. PTI leaders and supporters, led by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, are en route to participate in the protest. This comes just a day after PTI withdrew its application for a rally in Rawalpindi, which had been submitted to the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench.

Following the announcement of the protest at Liaquat Bagh, police have sealed off the area, raising concerns about the potential impact on the demonstration. Today, the Metro bus service in the twin cities will remain suspended, and mobile phone signals have also been disabled within Rawalpindi’s limits. The Islamabad Expressway has been closed off with containers, and police units have been deployed at Faizabad. The PTI founder had previously instructed the cancellation of the rally scheduled for September 28, citing a lack of permission from the administration and courts.
