A flag seller was severely beaten by highway police officers in the Chamkani area of Peshawar on Tuesday. The victim sustained multiple injuries and was subsequently rushed to Lady Reading Hospital for medical treatment. The incident sparked outrage among local residents who staged a protest outside the hospital, condemning the police brutality. Taking cognizance of the matter, Additional Inspector General of Police, Orakzai, ordered the suspension of three police officials, including the traffic in-charge. Furthermore, directives were issued to register a case against the involved highway police officers and initiate strict legal action.
