The country’s IT industry has been hit hard by poor internet service as it has suffered a loss of $300 million so far. Underscoring the fact that internet service is of great importance for the IT industry, PASHA’s Executive Board Member Azam Mughal has expressed the fear that more losses are feared if the situation persists. “The firewall, which has been installed in the country in haste, will have devastating consequences for the industry as it has lost the trust of international clients,” he has said, adding, “The industry had only recently started showing signs of recovery that the firewall system obstructed its further progress.”

“Now it is on the verge of a complete destruction,” Mughal has said.  Pronouncing a reserved verdict about maintainability of the plea, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday sought replies from the federal government, the Ministry of Information and Technology and the PTA in the poor internet service case. The court also directed them to send their representatives on the next hearing. Later the court adjourned the case’s hearing until August 21.
