The Election Commission has rejected the news item published in a section of media regarding concealing foreign visit of Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab, Ijaz Anwar Chohan and formation of inquiry committee to investigate into the matter. However, it clarified that an inquiry was being conducted against the Election Officer of Khushab who has illegally gone abroad without permission. The Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab has a supervisory role in administrative matters. An inquiry was being conducted to the extent of determining why certain relevant officers, including the PEC Punjab, did not provide timely information about the concerned officer's departure abroad.
