The dengue outbreak in Punjab shows no signs of abating, with 82 new patients reported in the 24 hours, said the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the health department revealed that out of the new cases, 69 were reported in Rawalpindi and 4 in Lahore. Additionally, two new cases emerged in Chakwal, while Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Mandi Bahauddin, Sahiwal, and Sargodha each reported one case. In total, Punjab has seen 459 dengue cases in the past week, bringing the yearly total to 1,245. The spokesperson assured that all necessary measures are in place to combat the dengue threat, stating that stockpiles of dengue and other essential medicines are available in all government hospitals.
