Commissioner Lahore Zaid bin Maqsood has directed the authorities concerned to ensure best possible arrangements for Christian pilgrims during the visit to Maryamabad from September 6 to 8, 2024. He issued the directives during his visit to Maryamabad Church, Safdarabad Tehsil of Sheikhupura on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura Shahid Imran Marth, ADCG, Assistant Commissioner and other district officers were also present on this occasion. On the occasion, Zaid bin Maqsood reviewed the renovation work of the church including sheds for Christian pilgrims. Commissioner Lahore also reviewed the progress of the ongoing development projects of the Department of Highways and Buildings in Maryamabad.
He said that under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the ongoing development schemes in Maryamabad should be completed within the stipulated period. The district administration and the police department should ensure the best and foolproof arrangements during the days of Maryamabad pilgrimage, he added. The Commissioner Lahore said that protecting the rights of minorities should be the first priority of the district administration. Later, Commissioner Lahore also reviewed the ongoing development work of Quaid-e-Azam Park in detail and issued instructions to complete the work as soon as possible.
