The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted eight operations across Pakistan and seized over 78 kg of drugs, including heroin, hashish, opium, and ice. Eight people were arrested in the operations. ANF spokesperson on Friday said that in one operation, ANF officers intercepted a car near Motorway Toll Plaza Islamabad and recovered 5 kg of heroin and 6 kg of hashish. The two suspects in the car, residents of Khyber and Peshawar, were arrested. In another operation, ANF officers raided a house near Masri Khan Chowk Peshawar and recovered 21 kg of heroin. The accused, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested. ANF officers also recovered 300 grams of hashish from the possession of a drug dealer near Baidri Chowk Mansehra. In Sialkot, ANF officers recovered 5 kg of heroin from a parcel that was being smuggled to Canada. The heroin was hidden in surgical items.
At Multan Airport, ANF officers arrested a Sri Lanka-bound passenger and recovered 30 heroin-filled capsules from his possession. The accused, a resident of Lahore, was going on Flight No G-9559. ANF officers also intercepted a Honda car near Gojra Interchange and recovered 19.2 kg of opium and 20.4 kg of hashish. The accused, a resident of Swat, was arrested. In Karachi, ANF officers recovered 800 grams of ice drug from a parcel that was being sent to Qatar. The ice drug was concealed in flag sticks. Finally, ANF officers intercepted a bus near Vinder area in Hub and recovered 4 kg of heroin and 1 kg of ice drug. Two accused, residents of Turbat, were arrested. Separate cases have been registered against the arrested accused and further investigations are under way. The ANF has been working tirelessly to combat drug trafficking in Pakistan. These recent operations are a testament to their commitment to keeping the country safe from drugs.
