The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled two bids to smuggle huge quantity of drugs through two international consignments and arrested an accused in separate actions. A spokesman of ANF said, heroin and Ice (crystal meth) was recovered from sweet boxes booked for four countries. Drugs were recovered from halwa boxes booked for United Kingdom (UK), Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Meanwhile, 2.1 heroin was recovered from six of the 40 sweet boxes booked for UK Birmingham and 1.4 kg heroin from four of the 40 sweet boxes booked for Colombo. An accused was arrested while efforts were underway to detain other culprits.
