In a press conference outside Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, alleged that the government is extending protections for those responsible for the events of May 9 and February 8. Aliema stated that the message from her brother is clear: the "Gang of Three" aims to manipulate constitutional amendments to secure a two-thirds majority. “These amendments are not constitutional; they are devilish attempts to undermine the constitution,” she asserted. She expressed concern that the increase in the number of judges in the higher judiciary is an effort to protect those who have looted Pakistan while ignoring the lower courts, which lack adequate judges to hear public cases.
“How can we trust decisions when judges in the Supreme Court are being increased?” she questioned. Emphasizing the importance of peaceful protest, Aliema Khan urged supporters not to fear, stating, “We will not create chaos. We are still being denied an NOC.” She announced plans to gather at Liaquat Bagh this Saturday, calling on lawyers to join their efforts for judicial restoration, reminiscent of the mass protests in 2007.
