Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on Chinese companies to increase investment in Pakistan during the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Hangzhou, citing opportunities in information technology, renewable energy, manufacturing and agriculture.
The conference, focused on IT and telecommunications, battery energy storage systems and agriculture, brought together government officials, executives and investors from both countries to discuss bilateral economic cooperation and industrial partnerships.
According to a Gwadar Pro's report, he said Pakistan is seeking greater collaboration with China in technology transfer, industrial development, clean energy and modern agriculture, and pledged continued policy support and investment facilitation for foreign companies.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Pakistan aims to deepen economic ties with China under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor framework, with a focus on green energy and advanced technology sectors.
IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja promoted Pakistan’s technology sector and invited Chinese firms to pursue joint ventures and digital infrastructure projects, while industries adviser Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasized manufacturing cooperation and export growth.
Officials from Zhejiang province and representatives of Chinese companies also attended the event. Several agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed in IT, telecommunications, renewable energy, battery storage and agriculture.
