Chinese-led JV tops N-5 climate consultancy bid evaluation in PakistanBreaking

Pakistan’s National Highway Authority (NHA) has named a Chinese-led joint venture as the top-ranked bidder for a climate risk assessment consultancy linked to the reconstruction of National Highway N-5, according to a final evaluation report published by the authority.

The report said NAREE International Ltd. and Beijing-based Youdi Tiacheng Planning & Design, working with Systems Engineering Associate as a sub-consultant, received the highest combined score and was declared the most advantageous bidder.

Sino Carbon Innovation and Investment Co., partnering Warm Waters Advisory Group and Jiangsu Eastrans Intelligent Control Technology Group, ranked second, it said, according to Gwadar Pro. The report put the agreed consultancy cost at 53,290,800 Pakistani rupees, including applicable taxes.

The assignment is to assess climate risks and recommend mitigation and adaptation measures for N-5, a key transport corridor running from Karachi to Torkham, the report said.
