US President Donald Trump has claimed that three United States warplanes were shot down by American missiles in the airspace of Kuwait in an accidental “friendly fire” incident.Speaking to media persons, Trump said the aircraft were mistakenly targeted after being misidentified as hostile by Kuwaiti forces.

He added that despite the incident, all three pilots survived and continue to serve, describing them as “patriotic pilots” who are still flying. The US president termed the development a minor incident, saying it was a mistake on the part of Kuwaiti forces who believed they were engaging enemy aircraft.

“They fired thinking it was the enemy,” Trump remarked while responding to questions, downplaying the severity of the incident. During the interaction, Trump also commented on regional dynamics, stating that Qatar remains a strong player in the region.
