Pakistan’s major water-storage projects are making significant progress, with the Gomal Zam Multipurpose Project completed, Mangla Dam upraising 99.5% complete, and the land acquisition and resettlement component of Diamer Basha Dam reaching 94.22% completion.

According to a document available with Wealth Pakistan, the Tangir Hydropower Project, which is part of the main Diamer Basha Dam Project, had reached 22.150% physical and 45.890% financial progress as of June 2026. It has a listed water-storage capacity of 6,400,000 acre-feet.

The land acquisition and resettlement component of Diamer Basha Dam has progressed much further, reaching 94% physically and 90% financially.

Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project has achieved 54% physical progress and 76% financial progress. Its water-storage capacity stands at 676,000 acre-feet.

The Raising of Mangla Dam Project is among the most advanced schemes, recording 99% physical and 95% financial progress. Its listed storage capacity is 2,880,000 acre-feet.

Nai Gaj Dam Project has reached 48% physical and 50% financial progress. The project has a listed storage capacity of 160,000 acre-feet.

Naulong Multipurpose Dam Project shows 6.38% physical progress at the study stage and 6.230% financial progress. The storage capacity stands at 199,000 acre-feet.

The Detailed Engineering Design, Preparation of Tender Documents and PC-I of Hingol Dam Project has reached 94% physical and 65% financial progress. The project’s storage capacity stands at 816,000 acre-feet.

Gomal Zam Multipurpose Project (2nd Revised PC-I) has achieved 100% physical and 92% financial progress. The project has a storage capacity of 892,000 acre-feet.

Other storage schemes are also at advanced stages. Winder Dam Project has achieved 92% physical and 88% financial progress, with a storage capacity of 54,500 acre-feet.

Construction of Tapok Dam has reached 91% physical and 88% financial progress, with a storage capacity of 24,953 acre-feet.

Grauk Storage Dam in Kharan district has reached 82% physical and 80% financial progress, with a storage capacity of 53,025 acre-feet.

Construction of 100 Dams in Balochistan-Package-II, which covers 20 dams, has achieved 88% physical and 85% financial progress. The scheme carries a storage capacity of 91,610 acre-feet.

Shehzank Dam in Gwadar has reached 80% physical and 66% financial progress, with a storage capacity of 37,891 acre-feet.

Sunni Gar Dam has achieved 71% physical and 60% financial progress, with a storage capacity of 34,226 acre-feet.

Chashma Akhora Khel Dam in Karak had reached 84% physical and 85% financial progress as of June 2026, with a storage capacity of 3,994 acre-feet.
