“From that day on, no women in this country would ever be believed”  iffat Omer claims the entire industry knows the truth. Meesha Shafi Vs Ali Zafar caseBreaking

The Pakistani entertainment industry is a vibrant and globally recognized space where countless artists—both men and women have built their identities through talent and hard work. For decades, this industry has entertained audiences worldwide with its creativity, storytelling, and cultural richness. However, much like Bollywood and Hollywood, one troubling issue continues to surface: harassment.

Over the years, many women in the industry have spoken up about being harassed—often by powerful, educated, and well-known figures they worked with closely. These claims are not new, but they are often met with skepticism, criticism, or silence.

One of the most talked-about cases in Pakistan is between Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar. In 2018, Meesha Shafi publicly accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment, stating that the incidents occurred during their professional interactions. Ali Zafar strongly denied these allegations and later filed a defamation case against her. Since then, the case has remained ongoing, with no final verdict from the court so far.

Throughout this period, several celebrities have taken sides. Some supporting Meesha Shafi, while others stood by Ali Zafar. Among those who openly supported Meesha was Iffat Omar. At the time, Iffat Omar expressed her belief in Meesha’s claims and emphasized the importance of standing with women who speak up.

Recently, Iffat Omar once again addressed her stance. In a candid statement, she reaffirmed that her support was based on personal belief and conviction. She highlighted how difficult it is for women to come forward in such cases and pointed out the pressures within the industry that often silence victims. According to her, speaking up comes at a cost social, emotional, and professional and no one would willingly endure such consequences without a reason.

This ongoing case reflects a larger issue within the industry. The struggle between truth, power, and justice. Until a final decision is reached, the conversation continues raising important questions about accountability, courage, and the need for safer workplaces.
