8-Year-Old Girl Raped and Murdered at Sargodha Grocery Store  Breaking

June 23, 2026

What began as a routine visit to a neighborhood grocery store has ended in a tragedy that has shaken Sargodha and reignited concerns about child safety across Pakistan.

It is reported that on 22nd of June, Muntaha, the young daughter of Muhammad Naeem, Block 8, Sargodha, visited Hanif Kiryana Store between 10 to 11 am and did not return home. Her family became desperate to find out what had happened and called police who started an investigation and looked at CCTV footage from the area.

Things took a horrific turn for the case when police raided the store after watching the footage. Muntaha's body was reportedly found on the upper floor of the building where several shop workers lived, during the operation.

A case has been registered against four suspects including long-time shopkeeper Arsalan, authorities said. More details are expected to come to light following the postmortem, which officials say will be crucial to the investigation.

District Police Officer Sohail Ashraf has ordered immediate action and directed the law enforcement teams to arrest all the people involved as soon as possible.

The heart-wrenching incident has sparked massive grief and anger on social media with many drawing painful parallels to the 2018 Zainab Ansari case. Citizens are once again demanding stronger child protection measures, stronger accountability and urgent reforms to prevent such tragedies from happening in future.

How long will this oppression continue? As the search for answers continues, a grieving community awaits justice for Muntaha.
