Saba Qamar is one of Pakistan’s most respected actresses, known for powerful performances in television and film. But during the final days of 2025, she unexpectedly became the center of a legal and social media storm,  not for her acting, but for wearing a Punjab police uniform while shooting a drama and sharing related behind-the-scenes content online.

 A petition was filed in a Lahore court claiming that Saba Qamar appeared in the uniform of a Superintendent of Police (SP) in a video and photographs without official authorization. The petitioner argued that wearing an official police uniform and badge, even during a drama shoot, requires legal permission, and that unauthorized use could mislead the public and harm the dignity and image of the police force. This sparked heated debate online, with some questioning her decision and others defending her right as an actress to wear costumes appropriate to her role. 

What many didn’t know until today is that Saba Qamar had already planned ahead and secured official approval for the costume back in September 2021. In her recent Instagram update, she posted a copy of the letter signed by the Deputy Inspector General of Lahore Operations confirming that her production had been granted permission to use the police uniforms. She dismissed the legal challenge as a publicity stunt, urging critics to focus on their own paths rather than dragging her name into controversy. 

This incident highlights a larger issue in public discourse. The rapid spread of assumptions on social media without full context. Artists like Saba Qamar often prepare for roles with professionalism, abiding by legal requirements and permissions, yet still face backlash over misunderstandings. In her response, she reminded the public that her success is the result of years of hard work,  not careless acts and encouraged critics to look elsewhere for attention. 

In an era where celebrity actions are scrutinized intensely online, this episode serves as a reminder of the importance of facts before judgment  and the resilience of artists who continue to rise above noise with dignity and clarity.
