Reports Claim BLA Commander Shaynaz Baloch Critically Injured in AfghanistanBreaking

July 29, 2026

What if one of the most recognizable faces of the Baloch insurgency has been taken out—not in Pakistan, but across the border in Afghanistan? The question is subject to intense debate after unverified reports said BLA commander Shaynaz Baloch was critically injured in an ambush in Afghanistan’s Bamyan province.

Unidentified gunmen targeted the vehicle in which Shaynaz Baloch was travelling, killing two of her associates and seriously injuring her, it is claimed, on X (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms. According to the reports, after the attack, the Taliban members took her to a nearby hospital. Pictures and video of a damaged SUV have also appeared online, but none could be independently verified.

While the claims have gone viral, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), Afghan Taliban and any credible government authority have not officially confirmed. Most of the information originates from OSINT accounts and social media users, making the authenticity of the reports difficult to establish.

Shaynaz Baloch attracted some attention as the first prominent female commander of the BLA, calling on women to join the separatist cause. Should the reports be confirmed, the incident may have serious implications for the leadership of the group and the current state of security in the region.

But for now the story is not confirmed. Until any official statement comes out. It should be treated with caution.
