The issue came to the fore again when FIA officials stopped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Minister Meena Khan Afridi at Bacha Khan International Airport despite a Peshawar High Court order to remove his name from the Provincial National Identification List.
Afridi was on an official visit to Germany on the invitation of the German Embassy to finalize research partnerships and agreements to the benefit of KP universities and students. He said he had been prevented from travelling and posted a video detailing the step as a clear breach of the court’s order and a blow to educational opportunities in the province.
PTI supporters have reacted strongly to the incident, questioning why a court ruling was allegedly not implemented. Afridi says he intends to initiate contempt proceedings against the FIA.
FIA stopped him for Travelling
FIA refused to implement PHC Orders
His name was in PINL now in ECL
His Passport has been Deactivated
The case has once again highlighted the growing tensions between the PTI-led KP government and the federal authorities, raising questions about governance, institutional coordination and the future of international opportunities for the province’s youth.
