A two-day Growth Summit was held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad to bring together professionals in the technology sector to let them share their expertise with the participants. IT services provider – Connected Pakistan – and ITCN Asia organised the event. The IT summit, held from Feb 23 to 24, focused on encouraging the participants to think creatively and generate fresh concepts that could spur innovation in their respective professions.
The participants at the Growth Summit ranged from novice enthusiasts to seasoned businesspeople looking for opportunities. ITCN Asia is the largest IT convention that features keynote addresses from industry leaders who discuss technology. Panel discussions covering problems and solutions, and question-and-answer sessions were also held on the occasion.
Connected Pakistan is a tech social enterprise to empower Pakistan’s future through technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership. Connected Pakistan brought hundreds of tech-savvy companies to explore and share their products, services and experiences with the world.
Syed Affan Ahmed, business development manager of Dreams Network and Technology Limited – which also displayed its software and hardware at the event – informed WealkPK that Ubiquiti Networks, one of their suppliers, was bridging the digital gap by creating open and accessible network communication platforms. “Ubiquiti is revolutionising under-networked businesses and communities with more than 10 million devices installed in more than 180 countries,” he said, adding that the other vendor they worked with was MikroTik, which offered hardware and software for Internet connectivity.
Affan Ahmed said that attending tech gatherings “where you hear about other people’s achievements or even failures and what they learn can inspire, encourage, and energise you.” “Many people have returned from occasions like these with fresh perspectives, methods and motivation to accomplish their objectives.”
Mohsin Ali, assistant manager sales of Transworld, an IT company, told WealthPK that the firm was the only bandwidth supplier backed by Transworld Associates, which owned and operated its undersea cable network. “This guarantees the finest latency-free access to the internet. We are currently offering services in major cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Transworld Home offers state-of-the-art ‘Tru Internet’ and ‘Tru TV’ services with unlimited downloads/uploads along with 200+ HD/SD channels.”
He said events like Growth Summit were unquestionably essential for startups, business owners, smaller and larger enterprises, and the people willing to advance their expertise in order to succeed.

She said Hala was their newly-launched Celebrity Shout-out online platform that connected users with their favourite celebrities. “Users can pay them a fixed amount via this app solution to get customised shout-outs.”
She said the next application was Frich, which is the first social finance app empowering Generation Z, which refers to the generation born between 1997 and 2012. “Through hacking money together with friends, Frich makes money socially. The application enables ‘Gen Z’ to take control of their personal finances by setting spending goals together with friends using gamification and social media elements.”
The UtoR Solutions HR head said Foodle was another app, which is like Instagram, but for foodies and food-loving people. “Zealous is an application just like LinkedIn, but it has some other features that help you get selected. Zealous leverages audience interactions and Artificial Intelligence to automatically identify, generate and publish the best moments from your live content to your audience and members.”
“Such events are very important as we can interact with experts who are knowledgeable and have fresh perspectives. Also, we will have the chance to interact with individuals and businesses from various backgrounds who share the same objective of learning more about how to succeed in business,” Anum said.
