Sales of farm tractors decreased 36.24% to 7,991 units in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year 2022-23 (1QFY23) compared to 12,533 units sold over the corresponding period of last fiscal. Sales of trucks also posted a negative growth of 37.59% as only 946 units were sold in the 1QFY23 compared to 1,516 units in 1QFY22, Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA) revealed in a statement received by WealthPK.
Sales of pickups, light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and jeeps also dipped 19.58% to 8,398 units in 1QFY23 from 10,443 units in 1QFY22. However, sales of buses increased 113.79% from 116 units to 248 units year-on-year. Meanwhile, sales of cars declined to 31,417 units in 1QFY23 against sales of 51,752 units in 1QFY22. Sales of motorcycles and three-wheelers plunged to 292,264 units in 1QFY23 from 452,648 in 1QFY22, showing negative growth of 35.43%, the PAMA statement said.
