Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan has stressed the incorporation of innovative technology to ensure adequate food supply in the near future.
In a meeting at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), he pointed out that if technological advancements are not used to enhance agricultural output, the country could face food insecurity. To work towards this agenda, UAF has collaborated with Superior University to commercialize innovative agricultural technology so that it is made available to all farmers, he said.
He stated that the Special Technology Zone Authority had designated UAF as an Agri Tech Park to realize the dream of increasing per acre yield through innovative ideas, technology, and tangible research work.
Superior University Executive Director Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) Madam Ayesha Zahid stated that efforts were underway to collaborate with entrepreneur organizations for the commercialization of UAF's innovative products.
She added that the best investors in Pakistan would be invited to commercialize UAF's innovative technology.
Director ORIC UAF Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir, Dean Food Nutrition & Home Sciences Prof Dr Masood Sadiq Butt, Principal Officer Public Relations & Publications UAF Prof Dr Muhammad Jalal Arif, Director Planning & Development UAF Irfan Abbas, and In-charge Business Incubation Center UAF Imran Munawar attended the meeting.
