The import of medicinal products by Pakistan witnessed a decline of 67.56% during the first quarter of the current fiscal as compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year, WealthPK reports.
According to the data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country imported medicinal products worth $372.310 million during the first three months of the current financial year as compared to the import of $1147.523 million during the same period of the previous fiscal.
In terms of quantity, however, medicinal imports witnessed a surge of 54.31% as the country imported 11,252 metric tonnes of medicinal products during the first quarter of the current fiscal as compared to the imports of 7,292 metric tonnes in the same period of the previous year.
On a year-on-year basis, medicinal imports into the country during September 2022 decreased by 63.09% and dipped to $169.095 million from $458.172 million in September 2021.
On a monthly basis, medicinal imports during September 2022 increased by 52.66% as compared to the imports of $110.764 million in August 2022, according to the data available with WealthPK.
