The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a mobile app "Rahbar" to facilitate citizens through technology. The app provides detailed information about 552 offices across Pakistan.
Zeeshan Ahmed, Deputy Assistant Director at NADRA, told WealthPK that Rahbar app provides geographical location of all NADRA offices in major cities of Pakistan, such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Muzaffarabad. He said the app also provides detailed information about any branch located within a person's proximity.
“This feature includes the branch's postal address and phone number. It also includes the branch's operating hours, the time it will take to reach the branch, and the number of people currently present at the branch,” he explained.
The app allows users to view the operating hours of branches in their vicinity. Zeeshan Ahmed added that these hours indicate whether the branch operates in single or double shifts or is open 24 hours a day, or seven days a week.
He said the application displays whether the branch is an executive or local branch. Executive branches are subject to higher token processing fees than local branches. The high token fees, however, result in fewer people visiting the executive branch, which allows people to avoid the hustle by paying the higher fee.
The "NADRA van" is another initiative of the Authority to bring services to people at their doorsteps. An individual can also find the exact location of the NADRA van on the Rahbar app. This will allow citizens to check for NADRA van availability if they don't have access to an office branch.
Zeeshan said that in the future, if NADRA receives suggestions from experts to improve this app and add new features, it will definitely consider these suggestions.
For the convenience of every Pakistani, this app has been designed in both Urdu and English languages. This mobile app demonstrates NADRA's technical capabilities and citizen-centred approach.
Rahbar app can be downloaded from Google Play Store (Android) and Apple Store (iOS), which can easily be accessed from all over Pakistan.
Muhammad Amar, a citizen of Islamabad, told WealthPK that visiting NADRA branches was challenging due to limited staff and facilitation desks in offices. He said NADRA centres were bustling, so introducing the Rahbar app will help citizens manage time for visiting NADRA offices. He said it is a remarkable initiative by NADRA to assist Pakistani citizens.
