Provincial Minister, Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that expo centers and industrial estates will be established in every district of Punjab to spur future growth and development. He was chairing a meeting to review the progress on various developmental works in the province when he made these remarks.
Aslam Iqbal expressed his displeasure over the slow pace of progress in developmental works in the province. He directed the provincial authorities to ensure that all development projects are completed on time. He said that the government is planning to establish an industrial estate in every district of the province so that industrialization can take place.
He said, “people need jobs and for jobs we need investment and industry.” He added that state-of-the-art expo centers will also be established in the districts of Gujranwala and Faisalabad. He directed the authorities to submit a detailed report on the progress of various projects, and immediate completion of the boards of industrial estates. He said tepid work on the part of government authorities led to a decrease in economic activity in the province. Government, he said, must lead from the front.
The meeting was also attended by the provincial ministers Shahabuddin, Ghazanfar Abbas Cheema; Secretary Industry and Trade, Sohail Ashraf, and Managing Directors of the Punjab Small Industrial Corporation, Punjab Industrial Estates Development & Management Company (PIEDMC) and Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC).
