MoHR sets aside PKR 279.2m to complete ongoing, new projects

Ministry of Human Rights has allocated Rs. 279.200 million to complete the projects that are already underway and those which are to be newly started by this year’s end, an official from the ministry told WealthPK.

The official said that out of a total budget outlays of PKR 279.200 million, PKR 20 million has been set aside for the pilot project on Inclusive Education for Children with Disability in Public and Private Schools in Islamabad Capital Territory. Also, a sum of PKR 20.500 million has been allocated to upgrade the National Special Education Centre for Visually Handicapped Children in Islamabad. A sum of PKR 25 million has been allocated to strengthen the regional directorates of Human Rights in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. Similarly, to establish Human Rights Information System (HRIMS), a sum of PKR 29.300 million has been earmarked. PKR 36 million has been allocated for implementation of Action Plan for Human Rights and PKR 36 million for Human Rights Awareness Program.

For the project of Human Rights Coordination and Monitoring Units for National Mechanism for Reporting and Follow-up, a sum of PKR 20 million has been allocated out the total of 279.200 million.

Other allocations include PKR 20 million for Institutional Strengthening of Ministry of Human Rights (MoHR), PKR 7.5000 million for PC-1, which is the Feasibility Study for Establishment of Center for Persons with Disabilities in Public and Private Schools in Islamabad, and PKR 15.800 for the pilot project on the Establishment of Transgender Protection Centre Islamabad, the official told the media.

Also, a sum of PKR 25 million has been allocated for the Establishment of Planning and Monitoring Unit (PMU) at the Ministry of Human Rights, PKR 23.600 million for the Establishment of Sub-office of Human Rights in Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and PKR 5 million for the Establishment of Project Planning and Monitoring Unit (PMU) at the Ministry of Human Rights.
