Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan has stressed the need for the finest irrigation system to increase agricultural output. He stated that agriculture has a significant role in the growth of the country and that it is essential to construct the finest irrigation system while presiding over a mid-year review meeting discussing the Annual Development Programme (ADP) of the Irrigation Department, north and south zones.
Arshad said that the monies allotted for the projects in the ADP for the fiscal year 2022–23 should be used within the allotted period. He stated that the provincial government has taken unprecedented steps to undertake public welfare projects. The ADP for the year 2022–23 was discussed in detail during the meeting with Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan. The attendees were briefed on many topics, including the status of ongoing initiatives, challenges, and problems.
It was revealed during the briefing that 68 projects in the irrigation department’s south zone and 80 projects in its north zone are now under construction as part of the ADP 2022–23. The minister gave the irrigation department orders to increase openness and hold frequent review meetings.
