The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has urged the government and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the date for the filing of income tax returns till December 31, 2022.
In a statement received by WealthPK, LCCI President Mian Nauman Kabir said that because of floods, it is impossible for the business community to file income tax returns by the end of this month.
Elaborating his point, the LCCI president said that extension in the date for the filing of income tax returns will help the government to achieve its revenue targets and improve trust of the private sector.
He said that the extension will not only benefit the business community but also send a very positive signal about private-public sector liaison.
“Extension in the date for the filing of income tax return till December 31, 2022 will give a good message that government honors the business community,” the LCCI president added.
