Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Mitsuhiro Wada has assured the Pakistan government of enhanced investment in the country’s power sector.
He expressed these views in a meeting with Minister of Energy Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, a press release received by WealthPK said.
The ambassador appreciated the government’s initiatives for the promotion of solar energy and mentioned that Japanese companies were interested in the solar energy sector.
He expressed gratitude for Khurram Dastgir's presence at the funeral of the late former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe. He reiterated Japan's support for Pakistan in the devastating floods.
Showing satisfaction at the current level of excellent bilateral ties, the minister lauded the longstanding engagement of Japan with Pakistan for improving its economic and social infrastructure.
Khurram Dastgir said he was impressed by the kind gesture of the Japanese people, as they have been sending letters and money to the Pakistani embassy.
He applauded the Japanese investment, particularly in the energy sector. He said that Pakistan’s energy sector offers vast investment opportunities, especially in renewable energy.
