Vice President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Engineer Muhammad Azhar ul Islam Zafar has invited Italian entrepreneurs to visit Pakistan for exploring joint ventures and investment in areas of mutual interest. Zafar led a delegation to Milan to hold meetings with members of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, Promos Italia, and Assolombarda to explore business collaboration between Pakistani and Italian entrepreneurs. Speaking on the occasion, he said that close collaboration between the small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) of the two nations would be beneficial for exchanging experiences and fostering cross-border trade links.
According to him, Pakistan has abundant marble and granite deposits, and importing the most up-to-date marble technology from Italy may help the country make marble goods with additional value and boost exports. He said that although Italy may import numerous commodities from Pakistan, including raw materials, textiles, surgical instruments, marble products, pharmaceuticals, leather products, sporting goods, and others, Pakistan can import industrial and agricultural machinery from Italy. The other Pakistani delegation members also provided helpful recommendations for enhancing the two countries' economic and commercial ties.
Promos Italia Chief Strategy Officer Federico Maria Bega welcomed the ICCI delegation and stated that strong collaboration between Promos Italia and ICCI will benefit the SMEs of both nations. According to him, his organisation is trying to promote the internationalisation of SMEs by getting them ready to export and aiding in the consolidation of their position in global marketplaces. Due to its extensive worldwide network of connections and collaborations with the public and private sectors, Promos Italia is operating in more than 110 countries, he continued. Assolombarda is an association of businesses that operate in Milan and the provinces of Lodi, Monza, and Brianza, while Promos Italia is a national organisation of the Italian chamber of commerce network.
