Minister for Local Government Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Khawaja Farooq Ahmed has said infrastructure development is crucial for AJK's promotion of the tourism sector and economic expansion. Taking part in a one-day conversation on "Speakers Dialogue of SDGs 2023," he emphasised the need of prioritising infrastructure improvement. Being rich in natural beauty, AJK will benefit greatly from more tourism, he added.
The current AJK government has made sure that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) goals are being implemented to the fullest extent possible. After 32 years, the local government elections in AJK, according to him, were finally organised. The constituency residents want infrastructure improvement and the completion of several projects in their localities. The residents of AJK must put up with the threat of load shedding for lengthy periods despite several hydroelectric projects, he said.
