Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) President Abdul Ghafoor Malik has said Sialkot presently engages 52 foreign brands and its products are in high demand on the worldwide market. He said that Sialkot manufacturers are launching their own brands, which are becoming more popular on a worldwide scale.

Malik added that Sialkot's small and medium-sized businesses generated over $4 billion in foreign currency through exports last year, bolstering the country's exchequer.He said that Sialkot exporters have established exceptional precedents for self-help by completing a number of large-scale projects on a self-help basis, including the Sialkot Dry Port, the Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL), and their own private airline, AirSial.

The establishment of the Applied Engineering and Technology University in Sialkot is also nearing completion with the SCCI's specific interest, he added.Malik said that exporters from Sialkot are "the roaming ambassadors" of Pakistan, who not only travel to bring in significant foreign cash for the country but also work to promote Pakistan through their goods.

According to him, Sialkot and the surrounding area are home to thousands of small and medium-sized businesses that are known for their high-quality goods, distinctive export cultures, and ability to produce goods with added value such as leather goods, sporting goods, surgical instruments, gloves of all kinds, textiles, sportswear, martial arts uniforms and accessories, musical instruments, kitchenware, hollowware, knives, cutlery items, military uniform badges, etc. Sialkot residents have a significantly higher quality of life than citizens of other cities across the country, he added.
