The exports of electric fans from Pakistan increased by 26.97% in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022-23 as compared to the same quarter of fiscal year 2021-22.
During the period of July through September, the exports of electric fans from Pakistan stood at USD 7.221 million, against USD 5.687 million in the same period last year, showing an increase of 26.97%, according to the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
In real terms, the exports of electric fans also increased by 23.75% from 328 thousand to 406 thousand, the data showed. On a year-on-year basis, in the month of September, the exports of electric fans increased by 9.29%, reaching USD 1.376 million this September as compared to USD 1.259 million in the September of 2021.
On a month-on-month basis, the exports of electric fans, however, decreased by 56.44% in September 2022 as compared to USD 3.159 million in August 2022.
The overall merchandize imports into the country saw a decrease of 12.3%. They were recorded at USD 18.715 billion during the first quarter of last fiscal year as compared to USD 16.4 billion in the first quarter of current fiscal year, the data revealed.
The total exports from the country witnessed an increase of 2.62% and were recorded at USD 7.179 billion against USD 6.996 billion in the same time-period of last year. According to the data, the trade deficit during the period under review was recorded at USD 9.221 billion, showing a decrease of 21.32% over the deficit of USD 11.719 billion recorded during last year, the PBS data showed.
