Speakers at a seminar stressed the importance of dialogue in improving connectivity and trade relations as well as promoting development and shared economic prosperity.
The seminar was arranged by the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) with the theme of “Significance of National Security Policy in the Changing Geopolitical Situation.” Former national security advisor Dr Moeed Yusuf attended the event as the chief guest.
In his address, Dr Moeed said that “concrete steps are important if we want to make progress in the domain of economic security. Mere rhetoric has never helped as we fully know from the past.”
“Pakistan needs to reorient its policies, fairly distribute resources, and ensure the continuity of policies with a special focus on ‘economic diplomacy.’”
The address was followed by a question-and-answer session on a wide range of topics, including national economy, climate change, food and water security, governance model, population growth and surging debt crisis in the country.
Director General of ISSI Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry in his welcome address highlighted the relevance of the topics chosen for discussion.
