Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Kashif Anwar has expressed his hope that the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Project will play a significant role in promoting trade and economic activity. Talking to RUDA Commercial Director Kashif Qureshi at the LCCI he referred to the construction sector as the mother of all industries. The LCCI president said that the economy cannot expand until the construction sector is successful because so many sectors are directly or indirectly related to the construction sector.
He said large building projects should be begun if the economy is struggling because they stimulate trade and economic activity. The RUDA project is a 110,604-acre, 46-kilometer-long riverside metropolis that will be built for 10 million people. The project will be done in three parts, and when it is completed, it will have the biggest riverside in the whole globe.
According to Kashif Anwar, 32,000 LCCI members are unfamiliar about the RUDA project and the companies that are anticipated to migrate as a result of this massive initiative. According to him, the LCCI members should be made aware of the issue, and legitimate concerns from the stakeholders should be taken care of right away. Additionally, the LCCI President designated focal persons to guarantee a solid relationship with RUDA. He said that RUDA is crucial because it would provide the building and real estate sectors a huge boost.
RUDA Executive Director Kashif Qureshi provided a thorough presentation on the project and also agreed with the president of the LCCI to give staff members and members of the LCCI the opportunity to invest. He explained to the LCCI president that RUDA was created by a parliamentary act in July 2020 with the goal of creating a sustainable, green city with cutting-edge technology to protect nature, create new landmarks for the country to draw tourists and investors, and improve urban housing in a planned manner.
