Construction sector biggest source of jobs: official

Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works Iftikhar Ali Shallwani said that the construction sector is the biggest source of job creation in the country as it is linked with several other industries.
Addressing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the ministry and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), he said that it is the fundamental right of every citizen to live in his own house, which ensures comfort and security in his life. He said that the MoU would envisage a cooperation plan for the first International Housing Expo-2022 to be organized in December 2022. Such cooperation would augment the housing sector’s growth in the country and contribute to the economic development at the people level, he added.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials of the ministry and the ICCI.
