An incubation center has been established at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) to support fresh graduates and entrepreneurs with brilliant business ideas.
The Qamar-uz-Zaman Incubation Center will attract young graduates to transform their business ideas into successful enterprises, PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman said while inaugurating the center.
The incubators working on different business ideas would not only receive financial support but also benefit from the supervision and guidance of experts from industry and academia in their respective working areas, he said.
The center has the capacity to support 10 groups of entrepreneurs with exciting business ideas and they would be trained to establish new businesses, he said, adding that such centers are needed to promote new businesses.
Prof Qamar-uz-Zaman appreciated the efforts made by Director of University Institute of Management Sciences (UIMS) Prof Dr Yaser Hafeez, Assistant Director of UIMS Dr Irfan, and the entire team in the establishment of this center.
He highlighted the need for an academia-industry partnership and emphasised that such centers and applied research work in collaboration with industry partners are the key to success in today’s world.
Representatives of the Punjab Information Technology Board were also present on the occasion, who would be the collaborators of PMAS-AAUR to run this incubation center.
