Students from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will launch a 10-day wheat campaign on October 28 in Punjab province to educate farmers on the latest trends and increase yields per acre, Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said.
The campaign to be launched in collaboration with the Punjab Agriculture Extension Department will help students get first-hand knowledge of on-fields and farming community problems, he said while chairing the Deans’ Committee. Just like the previous year, the university is committed to reaching out to the farming community for the purpose, he added.
He said that the launching ceremony of the campaign will be presided over by Punjab Agriculture Minister Hussain Jahania Gardezi. He said that organising agriculture on scientific lines by ensuring an increase in per-acre production is the need of the hour for the agricultural revolution. "It is inevitable to bring the latest agricultural technology to the doorstep of farmers," he said.
The UAF is one of the hundred best universities in the world, which is equipping millions of students with quality education and providing solutions to the problems of the farming community, he added.
