Seventy-eight more TVET institutes have been granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Council for Technical and Vocational Stream (NAC-TVS). This takes the total number of accredited institutes to 655, which is quite an achievement in itself.
After the grant of approval at the 5th meeting of NAC-TVS, the list of successful institutes was uploaded on the website for public information. The meeting was held in National Vocational Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of NAC-TVS Mian Waqas Masud, and attended by Director General of AC&IC, NAVTTC and other members of the Council, including Pakistan Engineering Council, Provincial TEVTAs, Employers Federation of Pakistan, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce, and Industry (FPCCI) and other key stakeholders. Chairman of NAVTTC Shahid Khan was also present at the meeting
Recommendations of TVET Accreditation and Quality Evaluation Committee (TA&QEC) for grant of accreditation to TVET institutes in both the public and private domains were one of the agenda items of the meeting. Another agenda item was the revision of Accreditation Manual of NAVTTC, which was developed in 2018. NAVTTC through its Accreditation Council has reviewed and revised the manual with the technical support of British Council in Pakistan.
The purpose of the Accreditation Manual is to test the quality of the institutes across the country. Both public and private TVET institutes are checked across specific quality measures to see if they fulfil the criteria.
Updated and revised manual has already been uploaded on the website of NAVTTC (www.navttc.gov.pk) for the information of the general public and stakeholders, including TVET service providers, public and private vocational and technical training institutes, assessors, teachers, industry personnel, and employers.
Any queries, suggestions, comments, and criticisms on the revised manual can be uploaded on the website of NAVTTC through the given portal there till 15th November, 2022.
