Breaking the trend of continuous decline in revenues over the last five years, Worldcall Telecom Limited (WTL) witnessed 9% growth in sales and 21% in gross profit in the calendar year 2022 compared to 2021, WealthPK reports. WTL posted gross sales of Rs2.3 billion and gross profit of Rs446 million in 2022, thus achieving the gross profit ratio of 19%. However, the company posted net loss of Rs1.3 billion in CY22 with net loss ratio standing at 60.02%. WTL posted loss per share of Rs0.40 in 2022.
In comparison to 2021, the telecom firm’s revenues moved up by 9% from Rs2.1 billion to Rs2.3 billion in 2022. Likewise, the gross profit increased by 21% to Rs446 million in 2022 from Rs369 million in 2021. However, the company faced financial loss at the net level in both 2021 and 2022. WTL is the ninth-largest company in the technology and communication sector with a market capitalisation of Rs3.7 billion. It has also been categorised as the most active stock of the year 2022.

WTL posted highest gross and net profit in 2018 and 2019. The company posted Rs3 billion gross profit in 2018 followed by Rs1.4 billion in 2019 and Rs1.26 billion in 2020. The company saw a decreasing trend in sales during the last five years from 2018 to 2022. However, it managed to break the low-sale trend in 2022. The company posted Rs4.35 billion sales in 2018 followed by Rs3.85 billion in 2019 and Rs3.1 billion in 2020. The sales eventually dropped to the lowest levels in the last five years in 2021.
WTL has witnessed net loss for last three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022. However, the company posted Rs446 million net profit in 2018 and Rs72 million in 2019.

During the last five years, WTL posted earnings per share of Rs0.04 only in 2019. The company has reported the loss per share in 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
