Senior leader of the Kashmir freedom movement, Muhammad Abdullah Malik, passed away today in Islamabad after a brief illness. Abdullah Malik hailed from Alusa area in Bandipora district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Affiliated primarily with Jamaat-e-Islami, Abdullah Malik played a key role in both written and public advocacy for the Kashmir cause.
He migrated to Azad Jammu and Kashmir in 1990 due to Indian atrocities in the occupied territory. Malik was widely respected for his noble character, friendliness, and compassionate nature. His contributions to the Kashmir freedom struggle will always be remembered. His funeral prayers will be offered today after Asr at the Central Jamia Masjid Siddiq Akbar, CBR Town Phase One, Islamabad.
Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference-Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter, and the Kashmiri community residing in Rawalpindi and Islamabad expressed deep sorrow over his passing. They extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the elevation of his ranks and patience for his relatives.
