The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has formally terminated its investigation against former Federal minister Zulfi Bukhari and withdrawn the Red Notice issued in the matter, says in media reports.  Interpol conveyed the decision to Zulfi Bukhari’s legal counsel through a written notification, confirming that both the investigation and the Red Notice had been cancelled. 

Interpol said the decision was reached after examining the request submitted by Bukhari’s lawyers along with the information and documentation provided by the Government of Pakistan.Following a comprehensive review, the organization concluded that the case did not warrant further action under Interpol’s rules and procedures. 

The withdrawal of the Red Notice effectively ends international legal proceedings against Zulfi Bukhari, removing restrictions associated with the notice. Interpol’s decision is being viewed as a significant development in the case, as Red Notices are issued to seek the provisional arrest of individuals pending extradition.
