Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on Thursday for a one-day visit during which he will lay the foundation stones of two development projects and inaugurate five Danish schools across Balochistan.Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti and members of the provincial cabinet received the Prime Minister at the airport.Officials said the prime minister will also receive a detailed briefing on the province’s security situation and meet tribal elders as well as senior leaders of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Balochistan Chapter.

As per the channel report, the five Danish schools being launched in Balochistan are being funded by the Punjab government.One of the Danish schools will be established in Zhob, while the remaining four will be set up in Killa Saifullah, Musakhel, Sibi and Dera Bugti in an effort to expand access to quality education in underserved districts. Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail had earlier met with Danish School Project Director Arun Das to review the initiative.The governor said the introduction of Danish schools would play a crucial role in improving educational standards in the Balochistan province.

Mandokhail added that the schools would also offer boarding and lodging facilities to ensure greater accessibility for students from remote areas.Daanish Schools are free education schools for underprivileged children in the Punjab. The project of these schools was started in 2010.Described as the brainchild of Shehbaz Sharif when he was the Chief Minister of Punjab, the schools admit 110 students annually, of which 10 fee-paying students can also take admission out of the total 110 students, and the remaining 100 are admitted on merit and are offered free education.Students study in 14 Danish schools (7 for boys and 7 for girls) in Punjab. The school administration runs on the basis of an act uniquely established for these schools called The Daanish School Act, passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.
