Nine persons killed, several injured in IIOJK accidents
Nine people, including two teenagers, were killed and several others injured in different road accidents and other incidents across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Five persons, including 32-year-old Mohammad Idrees and his nine-month-old daughter Hamza, died and six others were injured after a Sumo vehicle skidded off the Teetwal–Simari road and fell into a ditch in the Karnah area of Kupwara district on Monday.
The accident occurred in the Simari area, after which the injured were taken to Sub-District Hospital Tangdhar for treatment and subsequently referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara. A 12-year-old boy identified as Ayan Ashraf, son of Mohammad Ashraf Mir of Zonrashi Chowkibal, was killed after being attacked by a leopard in the Marsary area of Kupwara district, while a fireman of the Fire and Emergency Services Department, identified as Mohammad Amin Khan, died after accidentally falling from the third floor of a fire station building in the Sogam area of the same district, officials said.
