Just in: World trade could drop by up to one third due to COVID-19 pandemic: WTO
GENEVA, April 8 (Xinhua) -- The global trade is expected to drop by up to one third this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Trade Organization said Wednesday.
"World trade is expected to fall by between 13 percent and 32 percent in 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupts normal economic activity and life around the world," it said in a statement. ■
