Chinese customs seizes 139 red coral products
CHANGCHUN, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Customs police in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, have seized 139 suspected red coral items on Thursday.
Changchun customs said the items weighing 181.4 grams were found to be packed in tinfoil in a milk powder can sent from Japan.
The customs has beefed up inspection of overseas packages as a surging number of anti-virus materials and goods need to be cleared amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Authorities will also take strict measures to crack down on smuggling cases, said Li Gang, a senior officer with the customs
