6.8-magnitude earthquake hits Philippines: CENC

BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- A 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit the Mindanao Island of the Philippines at 2:11 p.m. Sunday Beijing Time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 6.55 degrees north latitude and 125.3 degrees east longitude.

The quake struck at a depth of about 30 km.
