24 people arrested in Gwadar for trying to enter Iran via sea

 In a crackdown on those involved in human smuggling and crossing borders illegally, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Jiwani area of Gwadar has arrested 24 people who were trying to enter Iran via sea and registered cases against them. These people, who planned to go to other countries via Iran, belonged to different areas of Punjab. As many as 12 belonged to Gujranwala, three to Rajanpur, two to Muzaffargarh, and seven to Sargodha, Kasur, Gujrat, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Multan and Rahim Yar Khan.

The FIA has started the investigations. In a separate development on Thursday, taking timely action, the FIA immigration at Sialkot International Airport stopped two passengers from boarding a flight for Kenya on visit visas before their onward journey to Europe via sea. Muhammad Nafees and Nabeel Idrees, both belonging to Gujranwala, were handed over to the shift in-charge when they looked suspicious during the immigration clearance.

And when they were questioned, they failed to satisfy the interrogators.They disclosed that they had paid Rs4 million to an agent named Qasim for travelling to Kenya, then to Libya and later to Italy via sea. Later, they were handed over to the FIA Composite Circle, Sialkot for further legal action and identification of the agent.
